Galaxy in a Gobstopper rings

Galaxy in a gobstopper rings, originally uploaded by Plastnatic.

Could you just die?! These gorgeous glittery balls are handmade of resin, glitter, and lots of love by Plastnatic (aka Cicely Margo). She has pics of them on rings, just as balls, and she told me that she even has them on lollipop sticks which I am DYING to see! She's such a tease! ;)

We had a little chat about ball molds before she started this project and I told her about the mold I used for my Wonder Bars:

I had no idea what potential it had! Yay for bringing the best of super balls, glitter, color, and fun jewelry all into one awesome creation. You can get one of your very own at www.cicelymargo.etsy.com!

Buh-Bye

Tonight I'm going to my mom's house with baby Althea, then at the crack of dawn tomorrow we're all heading to Cincinnati. All week I'll be working at F+W Publications making every project that will be in the new Soapylove book, shooting photos of each step. It should be really fun!

I'm nervous about being away from my 3 year old for a whole week, but he'll be in excellent hands with my hubby Jim and his grandparents. He'll probably be totally spoiled by the time I get back! :)

So I'll be back on August 30 and will report how it went. In the meantime there will still be posts on The Soap Queen blog including a new tutorial and one about Labcolors. Make sure to check them out and have a great week!

Thank you Modern Gear!!

Thank you so much to Tamara of Modern Gear TV for her very cool video she made about Soapylove. When I was a vendor at Appel and Frank, she came down from Long Beach to check out the show and tape some footage for her blog. I always get nervous seeing tape of me (like most people!) but this was pretty painless. I hope you like it, too! It's so informative that Tamara said I could put it on my site, which I plan to do.

Check out the Modern Gear TV Blog for lots of other segments about fashion, business, and design. There's so much to read and her writing is so engaging! I was so lucky that she has this side project. She's a professional writer and journalist!

Thanks again Tamara!!

New Tutorial on The Soap Queen Blog!

Come on over to The Soap Queen Blog tomorrow (Monday) for this brand new tutorial. The ice creamy colors and cheerful rainbow sprinkles make these Birthday Cake Loaf Soaps a perfect favor for your next birthday party! It was inspired by Bramble Berry's new flexible loaf mold and their "Hello Sweet Thang" fragrance which is like cupcakes, candy, and frosting mixed into one. Don't miss it!

Come Visit Me at The Soap Queen Blog!

Tomorrow I will be starting my stint as the "Featured Guest Designer" on The Soap Queen. Each Monday I will be posting a full tutorial on a project created just for the blog and each Thursday I will post about something soap related, whether it's a product review, tips, or a technique.

Tomorrow's tutorial will be for the Cupcake Soaps shown in the picture above. There were so many fun color possibilities it was hard to commit to one! But hopefully this classic flavor will appeal to any cupcake enthusiast.

So make sure to tune in! It'll be fun!
