MP Challenge! Soapy Battenburg Cake!
I am a huge fan of baking blogs. There is so much inspiration to be had, and delicious treats to tempt me! Today I saw the most wonderful cakey confection on Sprinkle Bakes - a Battenburg Cake! Better yet - it's a full tutorial. So for the bakers out there, check out the full post here. Sprinkle Bakes: Spring Battenburg Cake
For the MP soapmakers out there, check it out and then get ready for a challenge!
This is the first ever Soapylove challenge. I would like to see YOU try your hand at a glycerin soap version of this stunning cake, then go to my Facebook fan page and post a photo of your entry. This is based completely on looks - so take your best photo! I will judge the entries (and consult with some of my soapmaking friends) and pick a winner on Tuesday, 4/19. That gives you the weekend to give it your best shot! I have a fun prize to send you, and it's not soap! :)
I can't wait to see your entries, and if you don't want to enter please come over and check them out. I know this will be a lot of fun!
Now go get soaping!

We hit 2000 Facebook fans! Come chuckle and win!
Yesterday the Soapylove fan page hit a great landmark - 2000 fans!! We can't let a monument like this go unrewarded so I'm having a fun little giveaway. Just head over to the contest post (you'll need to quickly "like" the Soapylove fan page first to enter) and comment with your favorite corny (rated G!) joke and you'll be entered into a random drawing for a Candy Carousel gift set (pictured above) which are not yet available on soapylove.com!
The yuk-yuks are rolling in, so come on over and read a few then dig up your best! I'm accepting entries through the end of the day tomorrow and will announce the winner on Wednesday. Good luck!

Paperlili + Soapylove = Great Give Away from Giftfully Simple!
Paperlili is a gorgeous blog that I just discovered the other day. She writes about fashion, decorating, and more. It's great for those of us with kids because she finds really cool stuff like this Heart Breaker T-shirt in the picture, modeled by her too-cute daughter!
Courtney, writer of Giftfully Simple and fellow Paperlil reader, loved the rainbow popsicle in the photo and wrote to Paperlili to see where she got it. Well it turns out that wasn't a real popsicle, but a Soapylove "Peace, Love, and Soapiness" Soapy Pop! So she found me and asked if I'd like offer her readers a giveaway on her site. I said, Sure!! So you can enter to win 2 Soapy Pops of your choice. Click here (enter by February 11!)
Thank you to Paperlili for letting me borrow her photo. It's so great!! Your pics are really awesome. I'm a Paperlili follower now for sure!

Going Coconuts!
I am such a sucker for contests. Especially soap contests! Last week, Joanna at The Soap Bar blog posted a contest to see who has the best coconut scented soap. So here is my entry! Too bad you can't smell it. It's yummy! I even got my pregnant friend to give me the thumb's up. There's still lots of time to send in your entry, though (click here for details) - so get cracking! I can't wait to see who Joanna picks!

Yay! We Have a Winner!!
Thank you to everyone who entered my contest this week! I got 37 awesome entries which had oodles of loves and hates about m&p soap crafting. I'll be reviewing them carefully and using many of these tidbits for new posts, to help many of you enjoy the craft even more than you already are (or giving you the little nudge to go ahead and give it a try!).Our wonderful winner, picked randomly, is Tammy from Milk and Cookeez (not pictured - I don't know who that guy is)! Coincidentally, she is a fellow member of IBN and I'm an admirer of her shop, too! She has a huge assortment of bath and body yummies you should definitely check out. With shop categories like The Fizzy Soda Pop Shop and the Ice Cream Parlor, it's a delectable feast of eye candy!
So Tammy will be receiving a complimentary set of Neon Soap Paints from PJ Soaps. I'll be getting it out to her lickety split.
Thanks again everyone and have a great day!

Soapy Contest!! Win an Awesome Neon Soap Paint Kit from PJ Soaps!
My friend and fellow soapmaking addict, Paula from PJ Soaps, makes these incredible soap paint kits. You may have read about them before when I made my Day of the Dead Soapsicles. I was so impressed by how easy it was to make my soaps look even more special! Now you can try Paula's Neon Soap Paint Kit ($24 value) for free! You'll get 8 colors plus arrowroot powder to prime your soap. All you'll need is a fine paintbrush and a cup of water (and soap to paint - even store bought!) Just comment in the box at the top of my blog and tell me what you love and hate (or not love) about melt and pour soapmaking. If you have never tried "M&P" before, tell me why you haven't taken the leap.
The winner will be chosen randomly, so don't sugar coat your answer - tell me what you really think!! :) One of my goals with Soapylove is to share how much fun soap crafting is, so if I know why many of you haven't felt the love yet, then I'll know how I can make it fun for you!
You can enter once and the contest will be over on November 20. So go ahead - let me have it!
