New Typography Soap in Black Coffee!

Over the last couple of months, the Typography Soap has enjoyed a renewed popularity!  Featured in the holiday gift guide in Fine Books & Collections Magazine, it is easily my most popular soap in my Etsy shop.  In fact, it might as well be the only thing I sell there!

So I have finally introduced a new color and scent offering.  This stark white version is a perfect match for the bold letters, numbers, and punctuation covering the top and sides of the soap, and the sharp Black Coffee fragrance is great for both men and women.  Like the Crushed Ice version, it is packaged in a clear acetate box with a matte cigar band label, making it a unique and polished gift.

I only have 2 of them made right now, but I plan to have more available through the holidays.  Click here to find the listings and see more photos!

Soap Cupcake Pops and eZine Update

I know many of you are Bakerella fans like me, but one of my new favorite bloggers, Mais Kes Ka Fee (from France), has been truly inspired! She made cold process cupcake pops! Check them out here.

I recently blogged about Ka Fee's new eZine over at The Soap Lab. Definitely check that out, too. Can you believe it's her first one ever? Wow!!

Also, I am diligently working on the next issue of Let's Get Soapy, which will be available on Monday! It's a special edition, dedicated to The Soap Lab. You'll find brand new tutorials, cool techniques, inspirational photos to get you going, and a guest article from Naiad Soap Arts! Make sure you're signed up for the SoapyClub so you won't miss the early bird special (sign up box on the left hand side of my blog page).

And thanks to everyone who has reserved their copy of the new Soapylove book on Amazon!

Getting Busy in The Soap Lab!

For those who attended the HSMG Conference this week, my Typography Soap might look familiar. It was in on the Soaper's Showcase table (but in a small group called "display only" since I wasn't officially a member when I submitted my soap for the contest).

I made this design a few months ago and due to its popularity online with the graphic design community, I will be offering the Typography Soap starting on Monday in my Soap Lab shop. I'll also be making another batch of Writer's Block Soaps and possibly more Peace and Quiet Soap Bars. There will also be just a few of my custom Black Walnut soap dishes available, too.

Don't miss it! The shop opening will be very temporary!

Do You Know About The Soap Lab?

If you were visiting my blog late last year, you probably read about The Soap Lab. It's my side project where I discuss modern design (like these gorgeous Soap Stones by Jean Pelle) and feature soaps I have made with a more grown-up feel. I've been so busy this year with Soapylove, Let's Get Soapy, and life in general that I haven't been posting there since December.

Happily, I am inspired again and have reopened The Lab. This time I won't be selling any soaps, though - just discussing modern design and showing new soaps I have made. I guess if I get really jazzed I will sell some, but I'll worry about that if/when it happens!

Anyway, I hope you'll check it out. I'm a Statcounter fiend and check my hits obsessively, so your hit will make me that much happier! :) Thanks!

My Pet Project, The Soap Lab, Now is a Shop!

I'm so excited to announce that I have finally opened a real online shop for my Soap Lab babies (only 5 months behind schedule!). The Soap Lab is at Big Cartel and has several styles you probably haven't seen yet! Please make me very happy and go check them out. And, if you're feeling like getting some gifts off your list, make me squeal with delight and make a purchase or two! I promise you will love the soaps and be very proud to share them with everyone you know. I put a lot of love and care into every bar.

I'll be posting about new designs and other things at The Soap Lab Blog. Head on over whenever you need a little soap design fix!
