Ta Da! Soapylove's New Book Announcement!

This morning I was super excited to see that my book is now officially available for pre-buy on Amazon! Check out "SoapyLove - Creative Projects and Techniques Using Melt and Pour Soap" from North Light Books. It has 128 lucious, full color pages of tutorials and tips, with chapters about cutwork, color, molds, and unusual materials. The book is nice and big - 8 1/2" x 11" so you'll be able to see the photos very clearly!

North Light has published books by many crafters I admire such as Claudine Hellmuth and Jennifer Perkins, and has created some really funky-cool books like AntiCraft and DomiKNITrix. So I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished version of my book, too (although I've seen some of the inside layouts and they're really great!).

So "SoapyLove" is available for pre-buy right now at a substantial savings - only $13.59. The regular price will be $19.99! It even has the tutorial for my most popular Soapsicle - the Neapolitan (see cover). So snap one up and get ready for some serious melt and pour excitement!!

A Soapyscape! New Soap Design for "The Book."

For those of you who are regular readers of this blog, you are probably going to be shocked that the book writing process is still continuing! For those with writing experience you're probably not surprised at all. This is my first time, so for me it feels like an eternity but month by month, "The Book" is getting closer to reality!

Right now I am getting ready for the book's glamour shots. I need to make all of the variations (there are 25 step-by-step projects and 12 variations). This one is called the Skyline Bar. It's dedicated to my editor, Julie, who came up with this great idea!! I hope she likes it!

There are lots of soaps I'll just make and send away, so you'll have to get The Book to see them! :) Make sure to sign up for the Soapyclub for book updates!

(Can't wait for the book to start soaping? Check out Let's Get Soapy - available now!)

There are Some Changes on the Horizon!

Lots of exciting things have been going on behind the scenes of Soapylove. Many of you have seen my holiday developments here, and the tutorials over at The Soap Queen blog, and maybe even read about the workshops I have taught and are coming up...

So in order to embrace all that Soapylove offers, my site will be getting bigger and better than ever! Soon you will be able to "Shop - Learn - Create!"

In "Shop" I will have all the soap pops you have come to love, including some really pretty holiday ones (not until November, though. Don't worry, today is only the first day of fall!)

In "Learn" I will have a whole page of soap tutorials you can choose a la carte and get emailed right to you! Bubbly Holidays will be offered this way instead of as a published book. I think you will really like the ability to pick and choose the projects you want to make. There will be new holiday ones as well as my popular year-round styles!

In "Create" you will find Soapylove workshops offered, and probably links to other soap making events around the country. If you know of any, please email me with the details so I can include them.

I think you will really enjoy the changes at Soapylove. I'm really excited! This allows me to bring together all the things I love about soap crafting under one roof.

Stay tuned to find out when it will be up and ready. Thanks!

Bubbly Holidays is Coming Right Along!

I'm currently working on a 10 project soap book called Bubbly Holidays. So far I have written all of the tutorials and am now making each project, taking the step-by-step photos, and then taking the "glam shots." This picture is of the Glittery Glass Ornament Soap project. It's a great easy project that looks so pretty and festive! It would be great for a beginner and even for kids to do.

I have completed the Sugar Plum Ornament Soaps (which are actually ornaments!), the Fancy Glass Ball Ornament Soaps (I promise they're not all ornaments! LOL!), and the Egg Nog Soaps.

This weekend I'll be heading over to my sister's house to shoot the cover photo. I'm getting my neice to be my model again (she is my Soda Pop Girl on my site), but we're doing a frosty wintery shot this time. I'm so excited! I'll post a couple shots here when they're ready.

Don't forget - you can sign up for book updates and get a special Soapyclub discount when you join my mailing list!
